How the 701 K9 Project Helps Acquire New Police K9s
The 701 K9 Project is dedicated to helping law enforcement agencies obtain highly trained police K9s when department budgets alone may not cover the significant costs of acquisition. Through fundraising, grants, sponsorships, and community partnerships, we provide financial assistance to agencies seeking to add or replace K9s in their programs. Our support helps cover the purchase of quality police service dogs, initial training, handler training, transportation, and essential startup equipment. By reducing the financial burden on local agencies, the 701 K9 Project helps ensure that communities have access to the lifesaving capabilities of police K9 teams for tracking suspects, locating missing persons, detecting narcotics and explosives, and enhancing officer and public safety. Every K9 funded through our program represents an investment in stronger, safer communities across North Dakota and beyond.

How the 701 K9 Project Supports Tactical K9 Training
The 701 K9 Project is committed to helping law enforcement agencies enhance the capabilities and safety of their K9 teams by providing funding assistance for advanced tactical training. Tactical K9 training prepares handlers and their K9 partners to operate effectively in high-risk situations, including building searches, suspect apprehensions, tracking operations, and critical incidents where specialized skills are essential. Through donations, grants, sponsorships, and community support, the 701 K9 Project helps offset the significant costs associated with professional training programs, instructor fees, training equipment, travel expenses, and ongoing skill development. By investing in tactical K9 training, we help ensure that K9 teams are prepared to perform their duties safely, effectively, and confidently while protecting both officers and the communities they serve. Our goal is to provide agencies with access to the highest level of K9 training regardless of budget limitations, helping build stronger, more capable K9 units throughout the region.

Emergency Veterinary Care for Police K9s
The 701 K9 Project recognizes that police K9s are more than working dogs—they are dedicated partners who serve alongside law enforcement officers and often place themselves in harm’s way to protect their communities. To support these canine heroes, the 701 K9 Project helps provide funding for emergency veterinary care for K9s injured in the line of duty, helping agencies and handlers cover unexpected medical expenses that may arise from injuries sustained during training, deployments, searches, apprehensions, or other law enforcement operations. In addition, we are committed to supporting retired police K9s that have faithfully served their communities by assisting with veterinary expenses related to illness, injury, and age-related health needs after retirement. Through donations, grants, and community partnerships, we help ensure that active and retired K9s receive the medical care they deserve, honoring their service and helping provide a healthy, comfortable quality of life both during and after their careers.

How the 701 K9 Project Supports the Community
The 701 K9 Project strengthens communities by connecting public support with the real needs of law enforcement K9 teams. Through donations, sponsorships, grants, fundraising, and community partnerships, we help provide resources that many agencies may not be able to fully fund on their own. This support can help cover new police K9s, advanced training, emergency veterinary care, retired K9 medical needs, and essential tactical gear and equipment.
By raising awareness and giving individuals, businesses, and organizations a meaningful way to get involved, the 701 K9 Project helps ensure K9 teams are better prepared, better protected, and ready to serve when their communities need them most. Every contribution is an investment in safer officers, healthier K9s, and stronger communities across North Dakota and beyond.
